When you don’t keep your word, the fragile bond of trust is shattered, and individuals will not give you their best if they can’t trust you. Each time you give a commitment or give a promise, you are wasting your time and effort unless you keep your promises. You’ll discover, when you can’t be depended on, you can be certain they will act in a similar way. Be open to any comments: Feedback must be a two-way process. Human Resources management skills mean having an open mind to all feedback. If you can establish that you are accessible and receptive, you establish that other people’s thoughts are important to you, and they will listen to your opinions. Honest discussion also furthers creative troubleshooting, new ways of accomplishing goals, and improves the team dynamic. By allowing the staff some input, each member of staff takes ownership of the project’s outcome. Communication is essential: Good communication is fundamental to managing staff effectively. Be accessible, utilize listening skills, remember to welcome feedback , and allow all of your staff an equal voice. Employees should be encouraged to speak to each other as well as with you. The exchange of thoughts is imperative in the creative process, and in speaking with each other, you can recognize problems at an early stage, and measures may be put in place before matters get out of hand.
