If your business requires you to stay connected with your colleagues 24X7 or if you are one of those who love playing video games while journeying in your car, you would definitely want to try out 3UK’s latest gadget that offers connectivity on the move.

3 has drawn on its MiFi wireless router - a personal Wi-Fi hotspot - to launch the new in-car version which creates a hotspot in the vehicle allowing a user to connect devices such as iPads, iPods, netbooks etc devices to the internet.

Talking about the new device, David Kerrigan, 3’s head of internet services, said their research found that more than a quarter of the people would like to have internet in their car. According to Kerrigan, people who really felt the need for internet connectivity in their car included families and employees who were travelling.

However, another research points out exactly the opposite of what Kerrigan has projected. According to a report by Infonetics Research, sales of MiFi and other personal hotspots declined by 28 per cent in 2009 compared with 2008, even as the period saw the sale of almost twice the number of mobile broadband gadgets (see internet dongle pay as you go).

So if you are a devoted 3 customer and believe in the network’s broadband coverage go ahead and buy the £59.99 ‘in-car kit’ which includes a car MiFi modem, mains and car charger and 1GB of data.
