Acne Program - An Introduction

Posted by admin on 16 May 2008 | Tagged as: Beauty Supplies

Acne is the most common skin disorder. Over 10% of Americans age 25 - 44 have acne. Over 85% Americans age 12 - 25 will have acne at one time or the other.

If ignored, acne can become infected, create scars, and pockmarks that become permanent on your face. I don’t want this to happen to you, so I have written a series of articles on how to clear your acne.

Acne Is a Disease

Acne is a disease called seborrhea or seborrheic dermatitis. It occurs when the sebaceous glands, under your skin, become contaminated with oily toxic matter, which contains,

* dirt

* dead skin

* excess sebum oil

* acid waste

* bacteria

* toxic matter

Under normal conditions the sebaceous glands release oil that comes up through your pores onto the skin surface. This release keeps your skin moist and lubricated for protection from the environment.

If your pores on your face are not open or plugged, this creates toxic oil that cannot move out onto your skin. This results in a growth or pimple that start to increase in size as more toxic oil tries to reach the surface of your skin.

If the pore walls burst under the skin, white blood cells move in to digest the collagen around the pores. When this happens, you will have scars on your face.

To avoid having scars, you need to start an acne-clearing program before you get acne or just as soon as you see acne coming so that your pimples and back heads don’t get to the point where they get severely infected and burst.

Clearing Your Acne

Acne is a complex condition that involves many parts of the body even though it shows up as only eruptions on the face and else where on your skin. It is a signal that you have problems elsewhere deep within your body. Acne can be caused by a toxic colon, poor digestion of food, weak liver and other conditions that cause the blood to carry too much toxicity.

To clear acne it is not always possible to just do one thing and expect acne to go away. But it may be possible to just use a special cream and have your acne diminish or clear.

Acne may go away by just doing one thing but don’t expect it to. A facial cream, diet, herbal treatment, and colon cleanse alone may not be able to clear acne. A combination may or may not work.

In future articles, I will be covering how to get rid of acne.

Toxic People

Posted by admin on 10 May 2008 | Tagged as: Beauty Supplies

Mark Twain said, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” And you know what? He was right! I am sure you know at least one person in your life that always has something negative to say. Their main objective is to make you feel bad in one way or another. You know those people that say just about anything knowing that it will hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable.

If you have friends like that then you should seriously spend less amount of time with them. Why? People like that can tear you apart little by little; it is not true that words do not hurt. In fact, they can hurt more than actual physical violence. Think about it, the more you hear someone put you down the more you will start to believe what they say. Therefore, it will tear your self esteem slowly but surely.

If it’s not easy to stay away from the toxic person in your life because they are part of your family etc. try to maintain some distance. Always keep in mind that the reason why this person targets you is because they have low self esteem and needs to put down others, in order to feel better. It’s like the quote above says, someone who is sure of himself and confident in his abilities would not waste time putting others down.

Also, do not just be a doormat for bullies. If they hurt you in a calm and serious manner express your feelings and tell them exactly what type of behavior you expect from them. Show sensibility for their emotions as well and you will see them respect you more for being assertive (expressing your emotions on a healthy manner). If you do this you will probably earn their respect and maintain the relationship alive.

Remember to maintain positive and uplifting individuals close to you. Life is already too hard therefore; it will be likely that sometimes you will feel out of tune. Exactly when the company of a positive soul will come in handy!

Home Laser Hair Removal

Posted by admin on 16 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Beauty Supplies

Today, you can find certain laser hair removal machines manufactured for personal use at home. Though most of the machines are competent and come with elaborate instructions, you should be extremely careful while using them.

It is highly recommended that knowledgeable professionals, whether they are dermatologists or technicians, handle the hair removal procedure. They have the know-how and the expertise using the machines to get optimum results. Furthermore, they can perform the task relatively risk free, and they are well equipped to reduce pain should it occur.

Advancement in technology has guaranteed laser hair removal machines that are versatile enough to cater to most hair removal problems. They are user friendly and can be used at home. Timepeel is one of those machines. It is a new “microdermabrasion” system that operates through the most modern technology by using a natural diamond material. Timepeel is a valuable solution for clients with large pores, chapped skin and fine wrinkles, as well as for improvement of the skin pigmentation.

Another highly popular home laser machine is The Vector machine that has many advantages over other modes of hair removal treatments, like electrolysis. During electrolysis, the patient has to hold a gel-covered rod. However, with the Vector machine an electrode patch is applied to any part of body before hair removal treatment.

Though home laser hair removal machines are improving every day and are more user-friendly and safe, it is prudent to pay extra and have a professional do the work. You make the choice.

Bikini Line Hair Removal - A Guide to Pubic Hair Removal Methods

Posted by admin on 10 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Beauty Supplies

Shaving

Shaving is the most common method of removing pubic hair. That’s probably because it’s cheap and you can do it yourself at home. Most women use a razor and if you decide to do the same, remember to use a safety razor designed for bikini line hair removal. Electric razors are more expensive but less hassle to use and a little safer.

Many women find shaving a quick and convenient short-term method of bikini line hair removal but frequent pubic hair shaving can be a pain. Side effects can include razor bumps and other skin irritations and stubble growth between shaves can lead to itching and ingrown hairs.

Bikini Wax

If you want a longer-term solution than shaving, a bikini wax is an option. As hair is pulled out from the roots, it won’t grow back for four to six weeks. Not surprisingly, the treatment can be painful, and many women are reluctant to use this method of pubic hair removal for this reason. It’s worth remembering though that the pain should be less with every treatment.

Epilators

Epilators are electric devices that when applied to the skin pull hair out by the roots. Hair may not return for up to four weeks so they can be quite a good long-term method of pubic hair removal. They used to be painful to use but current products are reportedly less so as they numb the skin as they work. Very short hairs can be removed too so stubble and ingrown hairs are less of a problem.

Depilatory lotions

Depilatory lotions can take as little as ten minutes to dissolve hair. Some are designed for bikini line hair removal but you should use them with caution. Never use them on the pubic area other than along the bikini line as the chemicals can burn the skin or cause allergic reactions. Always carry out a skin test on your elbow before using a depilatory cream. Don’t use products designed for removing hair on the face: the pubic area is more sensitive.

Is Your Skin Talking to You, and if so - Are you Listening To It?

Posted by admin on 04 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Beauty Supplies

So if your skin could talk, what would you HEAR? You can listen to your skin talk by responding to its symptoms. We all have symptoms. Let me make it simple to understand what I mean by this.

A meteorologist uses a barometer to determine weather conditions. It is used for measuring barometric pressure in weather forecasting. They know when a storm or “bad” weather is approaching the barometer is falling and things do not look so good. When the barometer is rising, they know that “blue skies” and “clear” weather are usually expected and things look much better.

I am using the word barometer merely to make a point, so that you can understand what I mean by symptoms. When your barometer is rising you are probably using products with the proper ingredients and eating foods that can nourish your skin and body. When your barometer is falling it looks bad and you are experiencing one or more symptoms, it is telling you that you are probably doing “bad” things to yourself.

Your skin uses symptoms to talk to you. The barometer is a visual to explain what you are looking at. As the barometer tells the meteorologist what conditions are outside so do your symptoms speak to you of your condition inside of your body and on your skin. Our skin has a kind of talking barometer known as symptoms that appear and will tell you the conditions inside of your body. As these conditions get worse, symptoms will unfortunately show on the surface of the skin.

When we are talking about your skin, what affects your skin’s barometer? Your barometer is affected by what you are feeding your body, feeding your skin and the environment in which you live. In the same sense as the symptom begins to appear on the skin, we also know that something is wrong. The body’s barometer helps you listen to your skin talk so that the proper action can be taken to help your symptoms disappear. It is quite simple.

For instance, if you have tight and flaky skin, which would be a symptom that may be telling you that the skin is not producing enough oils to achieve the natural balance of your skin. NATURAL, being the key word. Why might this be happening? My research has shown that certain products as well as many facial treatments could be part of the problem, depending on your symptoms. I am not aware of any one product that is going to do all the work for you. My experience has shown that it may take a combination of skin care products and foods and life style changes to treat your symptoms. In other words, some products work like a “band aid” and simply cover up the symptom. What happens when you stop using the product and the symptom returns? Is it possible you could be making the symptoms worse or maybe cause another symptom to arise? Relying on any one product may be a quick fix, and may work for some symptoms, but has it really done anything to treat the condition?

It seems to me that band aids were made to cover the surface, what we are talking about here is much deeper than that. Let’s say you choose a product, and you use it over a period of time without any real results. What do you do then? Run for another product or try another “quick fix” to cover up the symptom? Or will you try to begin another regimen that could in the long run only end up costing you tons of money? Or perhaps you will be one of those who might spend sleepless nights because you can’t seem to solve your symptoms or produce results. In the end, you may experience no difference as a result of this repetitive “quick fix” method.

Instead of running out to the store with little or no education, maybe it’s time you stop and try something different. Maybe you can try letting the condition run its course for awhile so you can understand the symptom. Chances are you’ve been messing with the natural oils and the balance of your skin and body for quite some time now. Consider it is time for a change. Try something different.
